Pay me like a white man. Yes, we here at Madame Premier are 100% serious and here's why: for every dollar a white man in Canada earns, women earn less.

• The gender pay gap for full-time and part-time employees is $0.89 as of 2021, which means women make 89 cents of every dollar men make. The gender pay gap for full-time employees is $0.90, which means women make 90 cents of every dollar men make.
• Indigenous women working full-time, full year earn an average of 35% less than non-Indigenous men, or 65 cents to the dollar.
• Racialized women working full-time, full-year earn an average of 33% less than non-racialized men, or 67 cents to the dollar.
• Newcomer women working full-time, full-year earn an average of 29% less than non-newcomer men, or 71 cents to the dollar.
• Girls 12 to 18 experience a summer job gender pay gap of almost $3.00 per hour according to research done by Girl Guides of Canada.

Women need to start demanding the pay of white men and nothing less. Equal pay for equal work. After all, men won't for less so why should women?
