About
How did Madame Premier start? Madame Premier's founder Sarah Elder wanted to wear something that shared her political values and advocacy for women in Canadian politics. In 2018 she created what has become Madame Premier's most iconic design - A Woman's Place is in Council Chambers, the Legislature, the House of Commons and the Senate. Never did she imaging that her design would become a must-have wardrobe option for political staffers, politicians from across the political spectrum.

Madame Premier is Canada's foremost multi-partisan political advocacy and democratic participation fashion brand, podcast and community. Founded and run by Sarah Elder, a former BC provincial political staffer who saw the lack of women's representation in politics, each design she creates is intentionally made to create conversations, advocate for the increased participation of women in elected and unelected positions across the political spectrum in Canadian politics and build community online and off.
Sarah opened Madame Premier's Calgary, Alberta storefront in 2021 to create a multi-purpose space that doubles as an event space to host events focused on women in politics to dismantle some of the systemic barriers women in politics face in accessing space, networks and fundraising. Madame Premier is made for people in Canadian politics to proudly wear their political values.
