Naomi and Sarah talk about the process of political parties vetting candidates and how it doesn't work, how it could change so that more women and people actually run, how she ultimately ended up running as an independent (spoiler that isn't surprising - the system needs to be rebuilt because it doesn't work but does continue to work for anyone who isn't a white man who has been planning his campaign since birth), changing narratives and more.

Naomi Sayers is a lawyer and Indigenous feminist, called to the Ontario (2018) and Alberta (2020) bars with nearly a decade of consultation experience. Previously in-house counsel at Hydro One, she officially launched her own practice in early 2020. She regularly advises on issues relating administrative law, human rights, police abuse/violence, constitutional issues, lobbying and law reform initiatives, and non- profits.
